The author, awards received, and the Tibetan exile

Ángel López Soto’s work reflects a deep understanding of people in conflict situations.
He has worked with several NGOs including UNICEF, the Red CrossAgencia Española de Cooperación Internacional (AECI), The UN Population Fund, Ayuda en Acción, Action Aid and Vicente Ferrer Foundation in India.

As of 1997 when he began to document Tibetan exile, he has published numerous articles about Tibet. He has also organised conferences, audiovisual projects and exhibitions in order to give this conflict visibility. In 1998 he was received in Dharamsala (India) by the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people, with whom he has met on several occasions over the years.

Recent awards: International Photography Awards (IPA), Sony World Photography Awards, Premio Emilio Castelar (for his commitment to social causes).
